Hello. This is a place for those of us who live in the Sheffield Park area (including Eastway Park, Winterfield, and Briarcreek-Woodland) to have an open forum to discuss goings-on in our neighborhoods.
Let me start by saying that I love my neighborhood. I'm thrilled with my neighbors and I love the natural diversity that the neighborhood has. When I come home from the road, I feel so happy to pull into my driveway and look up and down my street and smile. It is home.
One thing: I attended several of the neighborhood association meetings. YIKES. The atmosphere is oppressive. I have not yet seen one motion or a vote on anything...or a financial report for that matter. And frankly, in every meeting I attended, there were no people of color. One of the attendees did make a racial slur at my husband who is of Spanish descent.
I'm not going all negative on this blog. Again, I love my neighborhood and my neighbors and want to make it a place where people help each other when help is needed, no matter what you look like.
